An analysis of Petfood Industry’s Dog and Cat Food Ingredient Center database explored how soy is used in pet foods.

Despite the plant-based protein source appearing in numerous forms, including soybeans, soybean meal, soybean oil and soy flour, soy is used in only 13 percent of dry dog food recipes in Petfood Industry’s Dog and Cat Food Ingredient Center database. Soy is slightly more common in cat food, being found in 20 percent of dry cat food recipes.
